Impact of different storage containers on seed quality parameters of eggplant (Solanum melongena) during storage

The present study was carried out at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, to assess the impact of natural ageing and different storage containers on eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) seed quality during 2020–21 2021–22 winter (rabi) seasons. Genetically pure seeds were used stored in cloth polythene bags. Seed parameters (germination, seedling length, dry weight, vigour) monitored various intervals (0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 months). Freshly harvested (control) exhibited superior quality, with higher germination rates, longer seedlings, greater improved vigour indices compared over months. deteriorated storage, reaching its lowest point Among containers, bags showed a faster decline (>700 gauge).
